Simply put, I would not have succeeded in my transition from my military to civilian career without Amanda’s coaching, honesty and continuous support.
Having joined the military and commissioned young, my purpose and sense of self was completely intertwined and indistinguishable from military service. To say that I was under-prepared to exit the service was an understatement!
Amanda’s sheer of force of personality and tireless enthusiasm helped me during the early conversations whilst still serving to bridge the gap in transforming my military experience to competitive, translatable skills for a potential future employer.
Even after I landed a civilian role and had moved into this next stage, she was on hand to challenge and stretch my assumptions. She actively listened to my experiences as a newly minted civilian and saw I may have been just settling and thinking that I was lucky to have been offered a position! In reality I had earned that role, had value and needed to remember that.
Subsequently, Amanda coached and prepared me for a promotion position in a different Sector. Without her tenacious attitude and unwavering belief I wouldn’t have been ready for interview nor performed to get the role.
